Sterling silver luckenbooth brooch with Scottish Thistle.  The tradition of the luckenbooth dates back centuries, gaining popularity during the reign of Mary, Queen of Scots.  Traditionally exchanged between lovers on their betrothal, and then pinned to their baby's shawl to protect them from evil.   You may have noticed in the 5th Season of Outlander that the Luckenbooth was being worn in the opening credits and in a few of the scenes with Jamie and Claire.
