Antique Victorian sterling silver brooch locket. The brooch is adorned with a central crown, two British Union Jack flags. The letters 'V' and 'R' surround the rose, four leaf clover and the thistle. These symbols represent the following: Victoria, Regina, England (rose), Ireland (four leaf clover) and Scotland (thistle). A banner underneath these motifs says 'Jubilee' 1887.
On the back of the brooch, you can see a small glass window where a keepsake can be stored.
The brooch is hallmarked with the makers mark 'S-BRO' referring to the jewellers Sydenham Brothers found in New Edmund Street, Birmingham. The brothers Mizpah brooches can be found in the Queen Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
The piece is in excellent condition and measures 3.6cm / 1.4" in width and 3cm / 1.1" in height.
